Where is the best water park in Tenerife?

Not only does Tenerife boast one of the biggest volcanoes of the world, which is also the highest peak of Spain, it is also known as the island of eternal spring for its mild climate. First let’s talk about the one and only Siam Park, awarded the title of “The Best Waterpark in the World” by Tripadvisor. Located in the southern part of Tenerife, on Costa Adeje, near Playa de la América, it was first inaugurated by the Princess of Thailand, Maha Chakri Sirindhorn in 2008.

The theme of Siam Park is the ancient Reign of Siam. Its innovative and impressive attractions cover an area of 185,000 m2 and its construction required an investment of more than 50 million euros. The water is introduced via canals, where it is desalinated and heated at 23° C before being introduced into the pools and slides.

The cost of tickets is 38 euros for adults and 24 euros for children between 3 and 11 years of age.

The park is open daily
from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in summer (from 1st May to 31st October)

Loro Parque: the best zoo
The park offers exciting water adventures in a tropical paradise. The Tower of Power is an almost vertical 28 m slide which passes through a shark filled aquarium before emerging into the splash pool. The Dragon will give you the thrill of zero gravity, the Mekong Rapids will offer a family experience on board rafts, while the Wave Palace produces the biggest artificial waves in the world. You will find the perfect attraction for you as there are a lot of different activities suitable for people of all ages!
In Siam Park you can spend time walking around, watching sea lions and Koi carps splashing around beneath the boardwalks or even visiting a Thai floating market. There are loads of restaurants and cafés and the park also includes a wonderful white sandy beach, just as in Thailand!
Shows and opening times
Loro Parque is a 15-acre zoo located in the northern side of the island, in Puerto de la Cruz. It houses a lot of different animal species, rare species of plants and many attractions. At the beginning it was designed to be a sort of Parrots’ Paradise but then it became one of the biggest attractions of the Canary Islands. Loro Parque is celebrated for hosting the biggest collection of parrots in the world. There are more than 800 species of parrots, from every corner of the world.
Penguin Planet is the biggest area dedicated to penguins in the world. The so-called Antarctica Room accurately reproduces a peninsula surrounded by water, which is sprinkled with 12 tons of snow every day.
The animals of Loro Parque
Among the different species that you can admire in the park you will find apes, gorillas, sea lions, otters, jaguars, iguanas, giant crocodiles, flamingos, pelicans, turtles, exotic fish, and sharks. There is also a huge garden with rare plants and orchids. Numerous shows are held daily : the Sea Lions Show (5 times a day), the Dolphins Show (four times a day), the Parrots Show (the Loro Show – six times a day) and the Orcas Show (3 times a day). In the park you can also find a lot of attractions for children, like “Kinderlandia” and restaurants.
How to get a discount
The entrance ticket to the park is 38 euros for adults and 26 euros for children under 12 years of age. Children under 6 are free. We recommend that you buy your tickets in advance so to save time and avoid queuing at the entrance.
Aqualand Costa Adeje
Aqualand Costa Adeje is a fantastic waterpark, only a few minutes away from Playa de Las Américas and Los Critianos. Occupying a central position in an important tourist area, the park offers attractions for people of all ages, areas dedicated to full relaxation, pools, slides, cafés and restaurants.
Among the different attractions, the most attractive is the dolphin show which often involves the audience. The dolphins are the stars of the park: their show has been awarded the title of “The Best Dolphin Show in the World” by the IMATA (International Marine Animal Trainers' Association)
Ticket to Aqualand Costa Adeje
The tickets are 27 euros for adults and 19 euros for children. The ticket gives you the chance to return to the park the following week for a reduced price. Children under 3 years of age enter free.
